Supermarket Microgreens

What are microgreens?

Micro in size, massive in flavour – our vibrant and nutritious seedlings are harvested just after their first true leaves emerge, delivering a fresh and intense burst of flavour and colour. We offer two delicious blends, each with its own unique taste. Our WS Bentley brand, available in Morrisons, blends the citrusy tang of lemon sorrel, the mild sweetness of garlic chives, and the bold crunch of purple radish. At Waitrose, where we offer our B Sow Healthy brand, we swap lemon sorrel for red mustard, introducing a smooth, subtle warmth that creates a perfectly balanced bite.

Our microgreens come in a triple pack, so you can enjoy each variety on its own or mix them together to enhance your favourite dishes.

How are microgreens grown?

Our microgreens are grown in carefully controlled conditions to bring out their delicate flavour and vibrant color. Grown on a biodegradable wood pulp base and nurtured in glasshouses, they’re harvested young – typically within 10–28 days, depending on the seed variety.

To boost their vivacious colour, taste and quality, we grow them under LED lights. Regular crop walks help us spot any issues and fine-tune conditions to keep every harvest thriving. Carefully grown and bursting with freshness – our microgreens are an exciting way to elevate your plate!

Are microgreens good for me?

Absolutely! These tiny greens might be small, but they pack a nutritional punch. Plus, eating a variety of plants is great for your gut microbiome.

According to our friends at Zoe, many experts now believe that eating a variety of plants is just as important as hitting your 5-a-day. With research showing that consuming 30 different plants each week can significantly support a healthy gut microbiome.

Our microgreens can be sprinkled into sandwiches, tossed into salads, or topped onto eggs, making it quick and easy to achieve the variety your gut needs.

How do I use them?

It couldn’t be easier! Microgreens are incredibly versatile and can be added to almost any meal. Toss onto salads, chop into sandwiches, use as a topper for soups, curries and stir-fries – the options are endless.

However you use them, microgreens bring a fresh, gourmet touch to your everyday meals!

Make our Smoked Salmon, Cream Cheese & Lemon Sorrel Bagel.

How do I prepare them?

Simply…

  1. Lift the seedlings from the punnet
  2. Snip the stems just above the biodegradable base
  3. Discard or compost the base, and recycle the punnet and carton
  4. Rinse the seedlings lightly and pat dry
  5. Enjoy!

Keep your microgreens in the fridge to retain freshness for longer.
