Salad Cress

our salad cress

We’ve been growing salad cress since 1969, combining decades of specialist expertise with modern production to deliver a premium product that foodservice customers can rely on. Our salad cress is not mustard cress, it contains no mustard and delivers a peppery flavour that pairs well with a variety of dishes.

Available in a range of formats to suit your needs, including small and large punnets or cut options in 30g, 100g, or 500g bags, our cress is grown to meet professional standards.

Does salad cress contain mustard?

No, our salad cress does not contain mustard. It is a blend 70% rape seed and 30% cress seed, grown on a fully biodegradable wood pulp base.

Quality Growing & Packing

From precise sowing schedules to high-speed packing, every part of our process is engineered for quality and efficiency. The product begins its journey in our carefully controlled germination rooms before being transferred to fully computerised glasshouses, where we can fine-tune temperature, light and humidity to maximise plant health and consistency. Once harvested, produce moves swiftly to our packing lines, which can handle up to 250 punnets of salad cress per minute.

Our fridge buffer system also ensures consistent availability, even during peak periods. And because our site operates seven days a week, you can count on a steady supply, no matter the season.

Supporting Sustainability

Sustainability is a core part of how we operate. Our glasshouses are powered in part by a biomass heating system using sustainable wood pellets and increasingly supplemented by solar PV, reducing our carbon footprint. Inside, computer-controlled systems ensure optimal energy and water efficiency, with LED lighting and minimal water use across the board. Our advanced irrigation system not only improves oxygenation and crop health but also prevents waste. By growing in pulp instead of traditional compost, we reduce environmental impact further. Packaging is also fully recyclable -plastic punnets and card boxes included – helping you reduce waste across your operations.
