Living Salads

What are living salads?

Fresh, vibrant, and still growing – our living salads bring the joy of just-picked leaves straight to your kitchen! Grown in a mix of red and green lettuce varieties, they offer a beautiful balance of colour, flavour, and texture in every punnet.

Unlike pre-cut salads, living salads stay fresher for longer, allowing you to snip just what you need, when you need it. Whether it’s a handful for a quick sandwich, a scattering over your dinner, or the star of a vibrant salad bowl, our leaves bring a crisp, homegrown feel to every meal.

Currently sold in Asda, we’re continuously testing and refining our colour combinations to create the perfect balance of bold red and lush green leaves.

How are living salads grown?

Growing fresh, living lettuce leaves takes time and care. Our living salads are grown hydroponically (without soil) in specially controlled conditions, ensuring they develop strong roots, fresh flavour, and long-lasting crispness. It typically takes 3–4 weeks from seed to leaves, and the crop is carefully monitored throughout this time.

By keeping the plants alive until you’re ready to eat them, we lock in freshness and nutrients.

Are Living Salads good for me?

Absolutely! Plus, adding a variety of plants to your meals supports gut health, boosts immunity, and enhances overall well-being—all in a way that’s as convenient as it is delicious!

How do I use them?

Living Salads are designed to be picked fresh and enjoyed instantly. Try them torn into salads, tucked into sandwiches or wraps, layered into burgers or paired with pasta or poke bowls.

How do I prepare them?

Enjoying our living salads is as simple as snip, rinse, and serve!

  1. Use scissors to snip leaves just above the base
  2. Rinse lightly under cool water and pat dry with kitchen towel
  3. Enjoy fresh, straight onto your plate!

To keep your salad thriving for longer, store it on a windowsill or in the fridge, giving the base a light mist of water if needed.
